Learners
A car learner permit allows you to drive a car on the road with a supervising driver while you are learning to drive.
Learner permits can be obtained from the age of 16 onwards, giving you plenty of time to practice before you're able to go for your probationary licence.
Learners 16-21 require 120 hours of supervised driving.
If you're under 25 years of age, you need to hold a learner permit for at least 6 months. If you're over 25 you need to hold a learner permit for at least 3 months (but exemptions apply.
You can get your learners from VicRoads in person, or online.
